Eugene Sandow (born Friederich Wilhelm Mueller, April 2, 1867- 1925) was a pioneering bodybuilder .
He was closely associated with Florenz Ziegfeld, who promoted and exhibited him to great effect in various carnivals throughout the United States. He was portrayed by the actor Nat Pendleton in the film The Great Ziegfeld (1936). |
