Karisma Kapoor (born 25 June 1974) is a popular Indian actress, also known by her nickname Lolo.
Kapoor was born into the fourth generation of a family of Bollywood film stars: her great-grandfather was Prithviraj Kapoor, her grandfather was actor and director Raj Kapoor, her father was Randhir Kapoor and she is the sister of actress Kareena Kapoor. Karisma began acting at the age of 15, and first achieved major success in 1996 with her leading role in the film Raja Hindustani, for which she won a Filmfare Award for Best Actress. In 2000, she starred in Fiza.
Kapoor was briefly engaged to actor Abhishek Bachchan in 2002; subject to intense media scrutiny, the two broke off the engagement by mutual agreement and in September 2003, she married industrialist Sanjay Kapoor.
