Eise Eisinga (February 21, 1744 – August 27, 1828) was a Dutch woolcomber and amateur astronomer.
Between 1774 and 1781 he built an orrery in his house in Franeker, Netherlands, to demonstrate to the townspeople that a local clergyman's prediction of a planetary collision was untrue. The house is still standing today, and is known as the Eise Eisinga Planetarium.
He also wrote a few books. |
