Robert Calvert Biography
Robert Newton Calvert (1945- 14 August 1988) lead singer, poet and frontman of Hawkwind, intermittently from 1972-1979, who went on to a less successful, but intriguing, separate career. He was believed to have suffered from bipolar disorder.

Major Works:

Various albums with Hawkwind, including Space Ritual (1973), Astounding Sounds Amazing Music (1976), Quark Strangeness & Charm (1977), 25 Years On (1978) and PXR5 (1979).
Captain Lockheed and the Starfighters (a concept album based on the history of the F-104 Starfighter)
