William Boyd Biography |
William Boyd (born March 7, 1952 in Accra, Ghana) is a contemporary English novelist and screenwriter. He is the author of several novels, including Brazzaville Beach, a disturbing novel about a female scientist researching chimpanzee behaviour in Africa. He won the Whitbread Book award in 1981 for A Good Man in Africa. He was also nominated for the Booker Prize for Fiction in 1982 for An Ice Cream War, which won the John Llewellyn Rhys Prize the same year. |
